What Not to Miss at Blue Mountain Resort

Blue Mountain is known as Ontario’s winter paradise. Families and couples come from afar to visit this winter haven which offers lodging, ski hills, a waterpark, restaurants, shops and much more. There’s plenty to see and do at this resort from getting your downward dog in at iwa Spa to riding the adventurous Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster. You’re left with plenty possibilities at Blue Mountain.

Whether you’re visiting for a day or week you’ll be able to find something within your timeframe and budget. Here are some of my recommendations if you’re visiting Blue Mountain:

Skiing and Snowboarding

Most travellers visit Blue Mountain to shred some snow on the 720-foot slopes. With 36 trails, 2 terrain parks, 1 superpipe, and 14 lifts, it’s the ultimate place to ski and snowboard. Experience the beginner hills or face the double black diamond, whatever you do you’ll have a wild time.

The Village

Blue Mountain’s Village is comprised of shops, restaurants, hotels and activity centres. If you’re looking for a night out on the town or want to shop till you drop, the Village offers a wide range to keep you busy day and night. Its location is right below the ski hills easy to spot from kilometres away.

Once you had your fill of snow head to Plunge, a water adventure located at the base of the ski resort. From a swimming rope to an indoor waterpark Plunge is the perfect activity for families or friends.

iwa Spa

If you’re looking to get pampered or relax you iwa Spa is your best bet. My favourite was the Hot Restorative Yoga on a volcanic stone bed which allowed me to loosen up my muscles while getting some healthy exercise in.

Hike n Tube

Tubing is a great and fun way to experience the slopes without actually getting on a pair of skis or on a snowboard. Tubing provides the downhill experience and gives you an introduction to the mountain. It’s the perfect activity for first timers or those who love old-fashioned winter fun.

Millpond Skating

One of the most classic and memorable pastimes, skating at Blue Mountain is a must-do. If the pond is frozen give your skates a whirl!

Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster

Yes, there’s a roller coaster at Blue Mountain! The Ridge Runner glides you along 1km of terrain where you can ride up to 42 km/h- talk about exhilaration.
