Where to Find the Most Romantic Restaurant in Santorini

The Athenian House is the most romantic restaurant in Santorini. We dined here our first night on the island indulging in rich flavours and aromas. Located in the charming village of Imerovigli tucked away in between villas and houses, The Athenian House serves gourmet Greek cuisine with “a modern twist.” We had an amazing dinner celebrating the end of our three month trip to Europe together- truly romantic and memorable.

Food is the ingredient that binds us together”

Right as we entered we were blown away by its modern decor and romantic design. I fell in love at first sight. I honestly wish my home looked like this! Our server introduced the menu to us and gave some recommendations on what to try. Everything on the menu sounded delicious. Being vegetarian and vegan there were multiple options and substitutions we could choose from. Ryan started with Grilled Calamari which came with crispy onions and I enjoyed Organic Mixed Greens with black quinoa. Definitely try this as it’s no ordinary salad!

For mains, he opted for the Fresh Fish of the Day- of course a must in Santorini. I indulged in the White Eggplant Risotto with cherry tomatoes and basil leaves- without cheese and egg. I love a good risotto and this one really hit the spot. To drink I tried a signature mocktail to spice it up! These meals were so good we literally left stuffed. I have never been so pleased in my life. I am seriously still thinking out this meal and debating booking a plane ticket back to Santorini.

A Firework Spectacle

We happened to visit the evening of the Ifaisteia Festival, a volcanic firework celebration. Before making our reservation we did not know about it so it was such a surprise. The fireworks were a representation of a volcanic eruption which is an iconic symbol of the island and its beauty. Our table was seated at the window providing one of the best views in the restaurant. We dined and enjoyed the show- making it one of the most magical experiences of our trip. While the fireworks lite up the sky, tons of local boats sailed around the spectacle taking in the amazing experience.

We are so grateful to have dined at The Athenian House. Thank- you for one of the best meals of my life.

I love risotto too, and eggplant risotto sounds divine. I’d love to visit Santorini someday and as I love food, this sounds like the perfect spot to have a meal. Thanks for the recommendation.

First time, I hear about this restaurant. Everything about it is gorgeous: the views, the food (how it is served), the decorations and even the chairs. I am sure it was an unforgettable experience.
