What to do in Mykonos, Greece

Mykonos is an island paradise. Crystal clear sandy beaches, white villages, dreamy sunsets, delicious seafood, and amazing people. This island is one of my favourite places to go in Greece. There is so much to check out and explore you will find tons of things to get up to. Here are the top things to do while in Mykonos:

Stroll around Mykonos Town

One of the best things to do is to simply stroll through the old streets. This island is unlike anywhere I’ve visited before. It’s almost like a fairytale with true white walls and doors, quaint cobblestones streets, little alleyways, and colourful balconies. Discover the true Mykonos and get lost!

Sample some Greek cuisine

Greek food is flavourful and tasty. Gyro, moussaka, dolmades, Greek salads, souvlaki- can all be found abundantly around the island. We loved Joanna’s Nikos Place, this taverna sits right on the beach providing dinner with a view. Only a five-minute walk from the downtown core, this place is a must!

Little Venice

While in Greece why not visit Little Venice? Just a few minutes walk from the Old Port lies a collection of restaurants on top of the sea resembling the Italian city of Venice. It can be quite a popular spot for dinner and sunset, so if you plan to eat definitely make reservations ahead of time.

Super Paradise Beach

If you’re looking to unwind and take an easy head over to Super Paradise Beach. In the morning it’s an amazing place to suntan and hang out. Hire a quad bike and take a trip over to take a swim! In the evening its best known for its loud music and parties.

Enjoy a Cocktail by the Pool

Cheers to being on holiday with a cocktail in hand by the pool. Check out Cavo Tagoo and their drink list where you can find pages of mixed specialties. Hang loose and take in the infinity pool overlooking the sea.

Enjoy some Gelato

Mykonos has tons of little gelato shops and stalls all over the main town. Enjoy the harbour while indulging in your favourite gelato flavour. Every time I adventure I like to try a new flavour- the choices are endless from pistachio to banana to mocha chocolate! What’s your favourite?

Windmills of Kato Mili

The windmills of Mykonos are postcard famous. Located on the west coast of Mykonos Town these iconic figures face the sea proving some amazing views of the surrounding island and coastal waters. This is the ultimate place to sit back relax and take some photos. Again, this is a super popular place during sunset so go early!

Paraportiani Church

The most photographed church on the island is the Church of Paraportiani. Greece has some of the most beautiful churches I’ve seen in the world. They are almost always white and are architecturally fascinating. Since this church sits right next to the water its a great spot to watch the sun go down.

Mykonos has a plethora more of things to do and see. I’ve only scratched the surface here. I cannot wait to plan my next trip here and discover more of the island.
