Checking in: Hotel Chavanel

I wanted the full Paris experience. A terrace view overlooking the street with a croissant in my hand enjoying the sounds of the city. Hotel Chavanel gave me just this. On our five day trip to Paris, we first checked into Hotel Chavanel the heart of Madeleine (8th arrondissement) for two nights. As we hopped off our bus we made our way across the city and found Hotel Chavanel quickly and easily.

The hotel is located in the centre of the city only minutes away from shops, restaurants, and museums. It is especially close to Printemps and Galeries Lafayette along with the Opera Garner- making it easy to find. We checked in smoothly and headed straight to our room which was incredible. For it being a small and cosy hotel our room was huge and spacious. We had a queen size bed, sofa, powder room, shower, and small fridge area. I was impressed by how beautiful and accommodating it was!

We were greeted with a bottle of champagne, and a few tasty snacks, which was the perfect way to celebrate our first night in Paris. There was a bar fridge, readily available treats and water for convenience. The shower was supplied with shampoo, conditioner, and soap which was helpful since we didn’t have any with us. To make it even better there were the comfiest robes and slippers to curl up in after a refreshing shower. Paris you have outdone yourself!

My favourite part of the whole room was the view out both of our windows. They opened directly onto the streets below providing a spectacular view. Every building in Paris I noticed is so detailed and stunning. This is one of the reasons I love this city so much. It was the perfect place to enjoy a breakfast croissant while peering down and taking in all of the city.

Every morning we headed downstairs to enjoy a traditional French breakfast. The breakfast room was an old cellar converted to a buffet dining room. It was beautiful and had a unique historic vibe to it. There were many classic staples at the buffet such as meats, cheeses, bread, and cereals. Everything was all organic which was thrilling to see. We definitely indulged in a lot of fresh fruit like bananas, pineapples, strawberries and blueberries. The homemade bread and croissants were some of the tastiest we’ve had all trip, we keep going back for seconds! There was also a lot of vegan options such as gluten-free dark chocolate covered rice cakes, soy yoghurt, and fresh fruit juices. It filled us up for a day of adventure.
