Fun Spring Outdoor Activities

When the winter snow has finally melted and the flowers are starting to bloom you know its spring. After a few cold months, you know its time for a new adventure to explore and discover more. While all the trees are budding and the bees buzzing everything is coming back to life. I like to celebrate this season by heading outdoors and rediscovering all of my favourite things to do. Here are some of the best spring outdoor activities:

Visit the Cherry Blossom Trees

Cherry blossoms are a symbolic flower of the spring, a time of renewal and awakening. Whether they’re in a park, on a street, or on your lawn, make sure to check out the beautiful flowers.

Take a Stroll Down by the Water

The water always reminds me of the summer. Take a stroll down by a river, lake, or pond and breathe in that fresh air. I love feeding the ducks as they are too cute to resist!

Admire the Gardens

The first signs of spring are here. Get out and explore some gardens or greenhouses and admire all the beautiful flowers and trees. Discover a new favourite plant or go on a scavenger hunt and find all the classics.

Picnic in the Park

It’s never too early for a picnic in the park! Pack all of your favourite foods, grab a blanket, and head out to the park. Dine under a big tree or by the water.

Go on a Hike

If it’s not too rainy or muddy than hiking is the perfect spring activity. Grab your hiking shoes, pick a trail, and get on your way. Make sure to pack a lunch and some water to stay hydrated while being physically active.

Visit the Farmers Market

During the spring outdoor Farmers Markets should start to pop up selling fresh fruits and vegetables. Make a morning out of it and ride your bike or walk to it. You’ll be saving the planet and supporting local farms with your dollar.

Adventure on a Bicycle

My absolute favourite outdoor activity is biking. You can explore much more by bike than car or foot as you can weave your way through anywhere. Take a ride around the block, to a local park, or out in the country. Not only is it an amazing form of exercise, but its fun and enjoyable.

Go Explore

So go out, explore and try new things this spring!

Wow! All of those trees look amazing. I always love that spring is Farmers’ Market time. Maybe I need to add in a hike too. That’s a great suggestion.

I miss real spring! In India, where I’ve been staying for 9 years, spring is the hottest season, so it’s actually summer.
