How to Find the Best Travel Deals
Before I travel I always try to score a travel deal to save money. I hate paying full price for flights, accommodation or tours so I always scout out deals or discounts. I have signed up for numerous email subscriptions to various online deal communities which have really helped reduce the price of my trips. Sometimes the sites even offer an extra discount code saving me an extra 10 or 20% on certain days or items. Take a look around before you purchase, browse various websites and of course always read the fine print.
Here are a few of my favourite sites to help you find the best travel deals:
Travel Zoo is an online travel site which publishes more than 2,000 travel, entertainment and local companies deals. Whether it be hotels, resort packages, flights, shows, or cruises there are deals waiting to happen. Make sure to subscribe to their email list because they send out a newsletter every Wednesday with the top 20 best worldwide deals. You are also able to punch in your travel details on their main page including where you want to go and what you want to do.
Groupon is the best. I love this website. I browse it every few days because of the amount of good deals they offer. Not only do they have amazing local deals for food, accommodation, entertainment and electronics, but they have a wicked Getaway section. I bought my Costa Rica tour package from here a few months ago which included hotels, tours, meals, spa and transportation- it saved me tons of money! If I were to purchase everything separately it would have cost me double the package price.
Living Social is an online marketplace that shares a bunch of Travel Escapes deals from around Canada and the US. They offer a selection of Inclusive Escapes as well as International Travel. I find this site focuses more on hotels and accommodation rather than tours or packages. Nevertheless, its a great place to snag a deal.
Wagjag shares a small but promising section of travel deals for Canadians to find great savings and discounts from around the country. It is very similar to Groupon and Living Social as its an online community that connects you with quality services and products. For example, they offer a luxury package to Azores, Portugal for 6 nights including airfare for $999- which I think is a fabulous deal!
There are tons of other websites out there to find great airfares such as Secret Flying and cheap accommodation like Hotels.com. In the coming weeks, I’ll be doing a post about more ways to save money while traveling. Stay tuned!
